  1. Naxalism which started of in 1967 as a socio-economic movement dedicated to the upliftment of the tribal people has over the years turned into a movement aimed at gaining political power. It started off in West Bengal but at present more than 200+ of the 600 something districts have been affected, the states of AP, Bihar and Chhattisgarh being the worst affected.

  2. Naxalism is one of the biggest threats faced by our nation today but I think it is not as widespread and dangerous as terrorism. Atleast for now, Naxalism hasn't spread to many regions of our country, but terrorism strikes at the nook and corner of our nation and contributes to larger casualties. For any uprising, there is a story of suppression behind it. The Tamils have been suppressed in SriLanka for decades which led to the formation of LTTE. Likewise we should analyze why the common people, the youth predominantly, in villages are attracted to this movement. What is that the naxals are able to fulfill for them which the govt. is not able to? What motivates the 'aam aadmi' to stay with this movement and help and hide them? Its been more than 60 years since we gained our Independence. We've got financial capitals, exotic malls and destinations in our country. But take the case of villages, where 60% of our population lives. We are still not in a position to firmly assert that the fruits of our freedom have reached all the villages. Those deprived of the benefits would stand up and ask for it. And if their voice is not heard properly, they would seek the help of extremist movements like Naxalism, which is already waiting for its turn to strike in order to gain political importance as the Maoists in Nepal. The social evils like corruption, poverty, unemployment etc. strengthens the partiality of aam aadmi towards Naxalism. So we can't put the whole blame on common people. We should make an effort to purify the different levels of govt. and bureaucracy before taking the hand to slap them.

  3. Naxalism is the single biggest threat facing Indian society today.Naxal issue attains significance in the wake of recent mass killing of policemen .The Naxal problem had become "grave and intense" in the past two months. But the same speech are given by Home Minister that necessary steps will be taken to the Naxal menace.. this is not the solution for the problem...the worst thing about this issue that the former soldier are the helping hands to them..

  4. naxalism is according to me is the opposition, against government.the main issues upon which opposition is ...land,livelihood.Thesedays even students are turning into naxalites. It is a clear indication that the revolutionary attitude has begun from even youth who were considered to be miles away from politics in this century.the govt can control the extremeties by providing everybody the basic needs.i agree that it is not so easy to implement in developed nations also. And our country is such a vast and developing nation.politics also helps and also affected by naxalism, sometimes even if govt sanctions loans it wont reach the needy. And nobody questions it as they get their share to keep themselves shut.so politics should be cleaned which is considered to be the root cause.the govt should also provide some schemes and provide them proper counselling.

  5. Our country in its constitution has guaranteed freedom of life and liberty for its people. But due to lackasidal attitude of our government freedom of life has been taken away..Freedom of life does not simply mean life in medical terms..it also includes living with dignity, getting food on time..what govt couldnt do that is what naxalites r trying to do..they have made concrete roads for these ppl..are trying to get jobs for ppl..They are now trying to enter mainstream politics too..this is a danger because there functioning is very undemocratic. If more youth join this movement it will create a chaos in society..When we read statistics of no. of ppl below BPL in India, we can imagine why youth r attracted to such movements..presently naxalism is not the biggest threat but if not taken care of in time might become one..
