CET 2010 - GDPI Experience

Hi Folks,

Here is a GDPI experience. I have posted it without any editing. I have done this for two reasons. The first, I did not know how to. ;-) and the second I thought that it would ok to do so as it is in the lingo that you people understand.

Here is the experience…..

there wer 2 students other than me who spoke wel.. 2 students wer requested 2 speak.. had a candidate in our grp who just started debating wit us..lik wen v said v an entr. need 2 be innovator toh he was lik wat innovation we can do if 1 need 2 start a restuarent..dn wat if my bussiness plan is nt convincing n i dnt get funds from banks, venture capitalist..i mean hw was just askin us questins as if u was takin our interview..!!
lastly panel told us 2 summarize amongst ourself..

i dint knw tat profilin sheet is standard fr all.. same questions.. strength weakness, 5 yrs down d line.. biggest achievement failure, fire saving etc..

pi- simplest though toughest question- tel me about urself..wch business 2 want 2 enter aftr gain work ex...swiss bank..boitech firm of India run by entrepreneur(as i mentioned my biotech)..TDS...tats it..

n yup its imp 2 reach half n hr bef.. der wer students who came lik just 5 mins bef..!!

n yup no need 2 panic fr gdpi coz faculty r nt young ppl who will screw u up..!!... n fr pi d best part..paste smile on ur face..

CET 2010 - GDPI Experience

I had my GDPI on the 14th of May at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.

GD topics:

1) All Reservations should be ended forthwith
2) Which is better, one nation or many states?

I preferred the second topic, but the rest of the group wanted the first one.

GD Experience:

There were 3 panelists. They gave us about 2 minutes to jot down point and then about 18-20 minutes for the discussion.
We were supposed to be a group of 10 students but one was not present. Of the 9, four of us spoke at regular intervals and with confidence. 3 of them spoke, but not too much and the remaining 2 spoke only when the panelists asked them to do so.
The GD went off very well. By that I mean- no fish market situation, relevant points brought up and the panelists seemed happy at the end of it all.

PI Experience:

There were 2 panelists.

Questions asked:

1) Since I have shifted from microbiology to an MBA, they grilled me a lot on the reason for the shift.
2) What I wanted to specialize in and why?
3) Some microbiology and biotechnology related questions (very basic though).
4) 5 dream companies I would like to work with.
5) Difference between a teacher and a trainer.

In general, I liked the way the GDPI was conducted. All of the panelists were kind and made us feel comfortable.
