Hi Guys,
And I am back. And I will totally ignore that fact that I was AWOL all these days and get down to the business at hand. (Even I can be embarrassed about my laziness you know.)
Anyway GD time once again.
Aaj ka topic:
Did Rahul Gandhi out-manoeuvre the Shiv Sena politically on his recent trip to Mumbai?
Looking forward to a lively GD.
Ciao
Yes he definitely did out-maneuver the sena politically. If there were 100 sena against rahul there were 10000 in support for him.He entered the tiger's territory and ruled.Breaking all the claims that the Sena made.
ReplyDeleteHis visit will mark a new beginning in politics.
Rahul's visit shows sena and us that there are people who are against sena in mumbai and sena's recent statements regarding mumbai.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt about it. His visit will change the politics forever. Rahul Gandhi has proved the opposition wrong. More than 5 million have joined youth congress in recent drive. The visit has once again proved that Shiv Sena is no more capable of executing their claims and that they can no longer play their 'dirty' politics.
ReplyDeleteTIGERS WILL NO LONGER EXIST!!!
Rahul Gandhi really did a smart job according to me, he asserted his popularity and avoided all the unnecessary commotion. It was something like he came he saw he changed his path and he won.Shiv sainiks on the other hand tried to a bit of what they had said but it had no impact since rahul had by passed the sena attack. I wud agrre with jay when he says that Rahul Gandhi has been a real jackpot for congress especially when it comes to their images in the minds of todays youth and this politically smart move really must have put the icing on the cake. But i think that one should not just blame the sena for 'dirty poilitics' everyone does it itand hey and if its not dirty it's not polictics atleast not good polictics :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, I do agree that Rahul Gandhi has done a wonderful job. But then always a question arises whether he outweighed security concerns for gaining a political gain.. True that he has been an inspiration to the youth, but he has sometimes ignored security issues. There was an incident when he sneaked out of the hotel, once when he came to Kerala, and the police personnels were completely worried.
ReplyDeleteSimilarly, in Mumbai, travelling with the local commuters, he exposed himself. Shiv Sena activists are known to be a little aggressive. A little scratch or an attempt to attack Rahul Gandhi would have shot up his popularity, but then it would have seriously affected the police personnels deployed for his protection.
Moreover, if anything seious had happened to him,the whole country would have burnt in chaos.
So, I sincerely feel, even though he did a wonderful job in tackling his opponents, he should have been a little more careful.
Out-manoeuvre? Really? We cannot forget the fact that the state as well as central government is governed by Congress and allies. With such a strong official security backing, it is not very difficult to 'manoveure' anywhere.
ReplyDeleteTo speak politically, definitely Shivsena is weakend now. But it is already weakened by so many other factors. Tiger is wounded.
Also, the 'tigers' said that they won't make violant agitations, which SS loyalists did.
To talk from public standpoint, how has this manoveuring helped the common 'Mumbaikar'? Did he assure migrants that they will be safe now? Did he say that locals will get jobs now?
Well i dont think rahul gandhi did anything extra ordinary to out manoeuvre sena.but the amount of " breaking newz" he made on hindi newz channels, he certainly would have made enough impact up north to pocket a good percentage of votes there.
ReplyDeleteIts not as if Shiv Sena is a saint tiger, look at their brilliance of thinking they beat up people from north who come for seeking jobs in mumbai.
then why question Aussies for doing the very same.
Its simple sena right now is devoid of any topic, worth talking.
In end rahul gandhi is right now playing good enough politics to strenthen congress and himself in the whole of INDIA.
Possibly for the day that when he leads INDIA,India wont be facing internal conflicts.
i think he certainly reemphasized that 'empty vessels make more noise'.Without uttering a single word he proved many things to jingoistic parties like shiv sena.Although one can't judge his competency from this one incident it can certainly be believed that future of indian politics is certainly bright in hands of RG.
ReplyDeleteindeed a political masterstroke from congress yuvraj
ya,i do agree that what Rahul Gandhi did was an intelligent step but again i would like to say that by doing so he gained popularity which will help him to find soft corner among north indians. He came n went back that doesn't mean that shiv sainiks got defeated n they wont create further any problems.
ReplyDeleteIn his 6 year career, this man has outshone not only some TIGERS but some INDIA SHINING octogenarians as well. But what he did in Mumbai last week was deserving reply to the outrageous behaviour displayed by Shiv Sainiks. Though he went a little too far by not taking security matters seriously, but then such is the image and legacy he carries. Kudos for that!!
ReplyDeleteRahul Gandhi has been viewed as one of the future prime ministers of India. I think he rose to the occasion to play down the dirty regional politics that severely harms the national integration of our country. There may be people who asserts that he only used his opportunity politically. But he was the only major politician who stood firm against the sena threats and for supporting the democratic values of freedom which our constitution guarantees. Where were the opposition parties ? In this era when the regional politics is gaining strength and calls for bifurcation arises, Mr. Gandhi's visit has to be viewed optimistically. He was able to change the mindset of the current youth and gave a more fair view about politics. As my friend said, this is quite evident from the massive increase in the youth congress membership. The British once played the ugly 'Divide and Rule' tactic, which caused the loss of both life and land. What these Sena and pro-Telengans are doing is exactly the same. The crookedness of these selfish minded regionalists would be shattered by the drives like the one Mr. Gandhi had made in Mumbai. When some 100s came with black flags against him, 1000s came greeting him. Friends, you may be crying about the security issues, but realize the amount of 'India-ness' or 'being Indian' feeling that had aroused during his visit. He was able to far outweigh the calls made by Sena.
ReplyDeleteRecent visit of Rahul Gandhi proves that the people of India are united and they want development and growth of the country. They will support the one who follows this path.
ReplyDeleteSo in that sense Rahul Gandhi definitely out-manoeuvre the Shiv Sena politically.
m sory realy for late patricipaton in gd.But i ddnt checked emails so i got late.
ReplyDeleteWell,
Rahul gandhi did nothing even he changed his travelling path. His visit also have another aspect to consider that he's congress' future as peolpe says.N he deserve dat but he dnt kno history, his great granfathr Nehru also gave comments like rahul when battle for mumbai was goin on.Nehru was against Mumbai's presenc in Maharashtra. And 1st comment was not justified there were only political persons with rahul on mumbai visit."de also when tigr cums on shivaji park one can find nt only thousands but lakhs of peolpe.
Y Rahul dosent thnk from other aspect of issu that people in maharashtra also r unemployed they also need job,n as mumbai is maharasgtra's capital they hav 1st right for employement.
SRRY for d late participation. I feel RG really out manoeuvre sena. Sena definately had respect in d hearts of marathi people but it is loosing dat by being too agressive on unecessary n absurd issues which is not going to benefit marathis anymore. but this political move by Rahul is definitely going to b a reason 4 increase in d north Indians vote bank as he was little careless abt d security issues which shot up his popularity der.
ReplyDeletethe National Security Guards that was sent from the Center to tackle the terrorists in the 26/11Mumbai attacks comprised personnel from Bihar and North India. Hence, the utterances of local leaders of Maharashtra and Mumbai that Mumbai is for Maharashtrians is not correct.and where was raj at that time...
