Quiz: Indian History

Here is another quiz on Indian History. I will be giving out the answers of all the quizzes so far, tomorrow. As usual put down your answers in the Comments section. And don’t Google for the answers. ;-)

Satyendranath Bose. He was a mathematician and physicist who extended Einstein's theory on the gaslike qualities of electromagnetic radiation.

2. King Charles II of England married the Portuguese princess Catherine of Braganza. How did this event affect Indian history?
The Portuguese transferred the islands that make up modern Mumbai to the British as the dowry of Catherine.

3. Connect “Ass-Lip” and emperor Ashoka.
Ashoka used the Kharoshti script in the inscriptions of the Northwest of India. The literal meaning of Kharoshti is "ass's lip", because of the supposed resemblance of the characters to the elongated lower lip of that animal.

4. Who was the Sultan of Delhi when the Vijayanagara empire came into existence?

The signing of the Simla Agreement.

    3.it's a language script name kharostha which means ass-lip . Ashoka edicts were written in these language. it's a mix form of roman and sanskrit.

  3. 1. a fierce battle fought in a close combat between troops in predetrmined position at a chosen time and place. In business terms it means fighting for something in close competition or bidding process kinda thing

    2.to get your argument forth which you feel as paramount in a debate or discussion like place and getting it heard by all the parties involved

    4. worked doggedly and persistently
