XXX Olympic Summer Games in 2012 - London

London Olympics: The Games open on 27 July 2012 and close on 12 August 2012

London will become the first city to host the Olympic Games for a third time. It hosted the Olympic Games in 1908 and 1948 earlier.

Women’s boxing will feature for the first time in Olympic Games in London.

Paris, New York, Moscow and Madrid were the other cities that were shortlisted to host the XXX Olympiad. London was selected as the host city on 6 July 2005.

Wenlock is the mascot for the London Olympics Games.
