CET 2010 - GDPI Experience

My GDPI was at 5 pm at Jankidevi Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, SNDT,Juhu

GD topic selected:

1. Cricket in India has lost its sheen

- We were a group of 10 candidates, 3 panellists

-2 mins to organize our thoughts

-17 mins discussion

- During the discussion certain people who had not made their points or could not be heard were asked to continue the discussion while those who spoke and brought their points to the table were asked to let the former continue the discussion.

At the end 3 people were asked to conclude the GD.

PI

2 panellists (slightly intimidating)

Questions asked were of this kind

1. Tell us something about yourself.

2. What are your strengths and weaknesses?

3. A situation where you have performed well under pressure.

4. Why is the price of sugar increasing?

5. Why are the prices of all commodities increasing?

6. What is being done to reduce these prices on an economy level?

7. What is R. R Patil doing to ensure the safety of citizens?

8. What purpose does a census serve?

9. Who is the Agricultural minister?

10. Why management?

11. Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

The GD was good. There were only 5 people who were really being heard because they were clear in speech and loud. Some points in time some others were talking at one and the same time making it a fish market situation.

The PI was nice. I was very nervous and they noticed and gave me a feedback about it that I rushed a little when i spoke. On the whole, the panelists very pleasant to speak with. I finished my PI in 15 mins.

CET 2010 - GDPI Experience

A PI experience where the usual "Stock Questions"seem to have been asked.

"Centre- Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies

GD Topics:

Industries have become over cautious during recession which has led to stagnation in their growth

Nothing is politically correct which is morally wrong

Personal Interview:

2 panellists

Asked to describe my personality- traits, personality etc

Why not IIM, Why not reappear for CAT?

Is MBA/MMS hyped?

Difference between leader and a manager

What values you look for, in a person (cross questioned a lot here)

Favourite subj and asked about that in little detail

Where do you see yourself in 15 years?"

CET 2010 - Personal Interview Experience

A short and to the point feedback on how the PI session for this candidate was....

I am a B.com Graduate. The questions asked in the PI were:

1)Strength & weakness

2)How is Inventory Calculated (formula)

3)Syllabus of management accounting of T.Y.B.com

4)Describe Yourself

5)Why MBA & then counter questions on Why not the other options

CET 2010 - GDPI Experience

Continuing the series of GDPI experiences here is the experience of a candidate on May 13th at Jamnalal Bajaj. Here you go ....

GD topics were

1. Alone we do so little, together we can do so much (we chose this topics. group of 5 people. Everyone contributed)

2. Computers have made human beings inhuman

GD Experience

Time was given to jot down points.

After the GD was complete, 3 people were asked to conclude.

In the middle of the GD, they stopped us and urged us to look at the topic from a different point of view. What we were saying wasn't irrelevant, but they wanted another perspective I guess.

PI Experience

1. Questions on extra carriculars.

2. Bunch of questions on my academics. I have done Economics, so they asked me about reforms, WTO, GATT etc.

3.A few technical questions about work (hardly any work related questions though)

4. What traits should a good manager have?

5. Current News.. about UK, Greece. The days headlines

6. What prompted me to do an MBA

7. Do you think there is place for values n the corporate world."

In case you have any queries do let us know by posting in the Comments Section and we will get back to you.
